Features of deposition by rivers

The Nile delta is considered to be an arcuate delta( ie.it is arc shaped). The topsoil in the delta is up to 70 feet deep. It is approximately 160 km in length from north to south. It is one of the world's largest river deltas, stretching from Alexandria in the west to Port Said in the east and covering 240 km of the Mediterranean coastline. This region supports much agriculture due to its fertile soil. Image from www.traveltoegypt.com
